AN OH THAT! ORIGINAL
THE OH THAT!GAME SHOW
THE PRODUCTS ARE THE GAME.
What is it? How much is it? Does it actually work? Can somebody convince you to want it?
THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW turns real products into live games—and gives the audience plenty of reasons to play along.
Different products. Different games. Same basic question:
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE STUFF WE BUY BECOMES THE ENTERTAINMENT?
WORKING TITLE / FORMAT IN DEVELOPMENT
HOW IT WORKS
THE PRODUCT ISN'T BETWEEN THE GAMES.THE PRODUCT IS THE GAME.
Every episode brings together a changing mix of products and a small number of recurring OH THAT! games.
Some products are strange. Some are useful. Some are expensive. Some look ridiculous. Some make enormous claims.
Some simply make everybody say: “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?”
The games change according to the merchandise.
THE ENGINE STAYS SIMPLE
- SHOW IT.
- GUESS IT.
- TEST IT.
- PRICE IT.
- PITCH IT.
- WANT IT.
DIFFERENT GAMES.DIFFERENT PRODUCTS.SAME SHOW.
THE PEOPLE PART
THE PRODUCTS START THE GAME.PEOPLE MAKE IT FUNNY.
A host keeps things moving. Contestants guess, bluff, pitch, react and play. The audience plays along from wherever they're watching.
- GUESS WITH THEM.
- VOTE WITH THEM.
- CALL BULLSH!T.
- BUY IT IF YOU WANT IT.
THE RECURRING GAMES
SAME FRANCHISE.LOTS OF WAYS TO PLAY.
These are current mechanic territories, not a promise that every game appears in every episode.
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?
We show you the thing. You tell us what the hell it does.
Then we reveal it. If it's real and available, you can go find it.
HOW MUCH?!
$19.99? $89? $349?!
Lock in your guess before the reveal.
TRUE OR BULLSH!T
Three stories. One is true.
Pick before somebody talks you out of it.
Fictional alternatives are clearly presented as part of the game. Actual product facts and claims stay accurate.
BUY CURIOUS
Would you buy it? Vote first.
Somebody gets a few minutes to change your mind. Vote again.
DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK?
Enough claims. Let's see what happens.
One product. One relevant, clearly defined live test.
An entertainment demonstration—not scientific, medical, laboratory or comprehensive efficacy testing, and not an independent certification.
BEAT THAT
Two comparable products. One challenge. Same conditions.
Somebody's about to lose.
A relevant, fair and supportable head-to-head for entertainment—not a scientific, laboratory or comprehensive efficacy determination.
THE HOLY GRAIL
Not new. Wanted.
The rare, collected, coveted thing somebody has been hunting for years.
Provenance, scarcity, value and authenticity are never invented.
NOT EVERY GAME BELONGS IN EVERY EPISODE.THAT'S THE POINT.
The merchandise determines which games are worth playing.
FOR BRANDS
DON'T SPONSOR THE BREAK.BECOME PART OF THE GAME.
Most product integrations ask the audience to stop paying attention to the entertainment and start paying attention to the sponsor.
THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW can work differently.
The audience isn't waiting for the product integration to end. They're waiting to see what happens to the product.
A PRODUCT CAN BECOME
- the mystery
- the question
- the price
- the test
- the story
- the persuasion challenge
- the comparison
- the reveal
- or the thing everybody suddenly wants
YOUR PRODUCT DOESN'T HAVE TO INTERRUPT THE FUN.IT CAN CREATE IT.
FOUNDING PRESENTING PARTNER
SOMEBODY GETS TO HELP PUTTHE FIRST GAME ON THE BOARD.
The Founding Presenting Partner takes the lead commercial position behind the inaugural run of THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW.
The partnership can be structured around meaningful, disclosed participation in the property rather than conventional logo placement alone.
POTENTIAL RIGHTS, SUBJECT TO FINAL SCOPE AND AGREEMENT
- Founding Presenting Partner designation
- presented-by association across the agreed inaugural run
- agreed category exclusivity
- integration into appropriate show and audience moments
- presence on the dedicated property page
- agreed on-screen and promotional branding
- agreed promotional clips and stills
- defined organic content usage rights
- inclusion in applicable show promotion
- post-run performance reporting
- first right of refusal on the next Presenting Partner term where agreed
- applicable Founder's Dividend benefits
OWN THE SHOW
FOUNDING PRESENTING PARTNERSHIPS FROM $15,000
Final investment depends on scope, rights, category, exclusivity, integrations, content usage, distribution and agreed activation.
THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW is in development under a working title. OH THAT! does not guarantee audience size, views, sales, impressions or return on investment. Sponsor deliverables, approvals, usage rights and category terms are documented before commitment.
THE REALLY INTERESTING PART
WHAT IF YOUR BRAND OWNEDTHE GAME PEOPLE WAITED FOR?
Become the brand associated with one of the recurring games audiences come back to play.
The recurring games create the most distinctive sponsorship territory inside the franchise. An appropriate partner may be able to become associated with a recurring game across an agreed run.
- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?presented by [PARTNER]
- HOW MUCH?!presented by [PARTNER]
- BUY CURIOUSpresented by [PARTNER]
- DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK?presented by [PARTNER]
…or another approved recurring mechanic. The sponsor relationship must make sense for the game and cannot compromise its integrity. A sponsor of DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK?, for example, cannot purchase a guaranteed favorable result. A sponsor of BEAT THAT cannot secretly predetermine the winner of a comparison presented as genuine.
Game association is a defined sponsorship term. It does not convey ownership of the underlying OH THAT! format or intellectual property unless separately contracted.
THE SIGNATURE POSITION
OWN A GAME
RECURRING FEATURE PARTNERSHIPS FROM $7,500
Feature partnerships are custom-scoped around the actual role the brand can play inside the mechanic—every time that game comes back.
THE SHOW CAN CHANGE PRODUCTS EVERY EPISODE.A GREAT GAME CAN KEEP COMING BACK.
BRANDS + SELLERS
GOT SOMETHING WORTH PLAYING WITH?
We're looking for products that naturally create curiosity, competition, surprise, demonstration or desire.
- Maybe nobody can figure out what it does.
- Maybe everybody thinks they know what it costs.
- Maybe its origin story sounds completely made up.
- Maybe it makes a claim worth testing.
- Maybe it's weirdly persuasive once somebody demonstrates it.
- Maybe collectors lose their minds over it.
That's useful.
Does your product have a mystery, story, price, claim, demonstration, comparison—or something people could argue about? There may be a game for it.
Submitting a product does not guarantee inclusion, positive treatment or sponsorship rights.
BIGGER TERRITORY
SOME BRANDS DON'T JUST FIT A GAME.THEY FIT A WHOLE PART OF THE BOARD.
Where appropriate and where category conflicts permit, a partner may be able to build a broader relationship around a product territory.
- BEAUTY
- ELECTRONICS + GADGETS
- COLLECTIBLES
- FASHION + ACCESSORIES
- FOOD + DRINK
- HOME
- TOYS + HOBBIES
- JEWELRY + WATCHES
- TRAVEL PRODUCTS
- OTHER HIGH-CURIOSITY MERCHANDISE
These are examples, not guaranteed categories or exclusive inventory. Category rights must be explicitly defined in the final agreement.
START SMALLER
SOMETIMES ONE PRODUCTIS ALL THE GAME NEEDS.
A brand may not need an entire recurring game.
A product, prize, challenge, reveal, audience moment or special activation can become a defined piece of an episode or campaign.
OWN A MOMENT
FROM $2,500
BEING FIRST SHOULD BE WORTH SOMETHING.
THE FIRST BRAND BEHIND THE SHOWGETS SOMETHING LATER BRANDS CAN'T BUY.
There can only ever be one Founding Presenting Partner of THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW.
That historical position remains true even after the inaugural sponsorship term ends.
Where included in the final agreement, the Founder's Dividend may provide defined future advantages such as:
- first right of refusal on the next Presenting Partner term
- a defined renewal credit or benefit
- agreed future activation access
- priority consideration for appropriate future opportunities
Founding benefits are finite and contractual.
They do not create perpetual launch pricing, lifetime discounts, permanent category exclusivity, permanent control of the show or indefinite first-refusal rights.
THE FOUNDING PARTNER GETS PAID BACK IN ACCESS,NOT IN PROMISES WE CAN'T MAKE.
NOT JUST CONTESTANTS
THE COUCH GETS A SCORECARD.
GUESS BEFORE THE CONTESTANTS. VOTE BEFORE THE REVEAL. CALL BULLSH!T FROM YOUR PHONE.
Planned play-along mechanics for appropriate games:
- Guess before the contestants.
- Vote before the reveal.
- Call bullsh!t from your phone.
- Change your vote after the pitch.
- Pick which product faces the next challenge.
- Buy it if you want it.
And when something goes from “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?” to “OH, I WANT THAT.”
the product should be easy to find.
Audience play-along mechanics are part of the format in development. They are not deployed yet.
AFTER THE BUZZER
A GOOD GAME CREATES MORETHAN ONE PIECE OF CONTENT.
A single product appearance can naturally create moments around:
- the mystery
- the guesses
- the answers
- the pitch
- the test
- the reactions
- the reveal
- the result
A partnership may include an agreed package of clips, stills and other show assets for approved uses.
Content quantities, usage term, editing rights, channels and paid-media rights are defined in the final agreement.
THE LIVE SHOW IS THE EVENT.THE MOMENTS CAN TRAVEL.
FUN NEEDS RULES.
SPONSORS CAN BUY INTO THE SHOW.THEY CAN'T BUY THE ANSWER.
SPONSORED PRODUCTS CAN PARTICIPATE.SPONSORED OUTCOMES CANNOT.
- REAL PRODUCTS
- Products presented as real must be accurately identified.
- REAL PRICES
- Where price is part of a game, we use a clearly defined price basis and disclose material qualifications.
- REAL CLAIMS
- Actual product claims must be supportable and accurately represented.
- FAIR TESTS
- Comparisons and demonstrations presented as genuine use relevant, disclosed and reasonably equivalent conditions.
- SPONSORSHIP DISCLOSED
- Paid, supplied or otherwise material commercial relationships are appropriately disclosed.
- NO GUARANTEED PRAISE
- Sponsorship does not purchase a predetermined positive editorial outcome where the format is presented as genuine evaluation.
- AVAILABLE MEANS AVAILABLE
- Products presented as shoppable must be genuinely available or clearly identified otherwise.
- NOT A CERTIFICATION
- Games like DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK? and BEAT THAT are relevant, fair and supportable entertainment demonstrations—not scientific, medical, laboratory or comprehensive efficacy determinations. OH THAT! is not a product-certification authority.
WE CAN MAKE THE GAME RIDICULOUS.THE RULES SHOULDN'T BE.
REAL ANSWERS.
Not necessarily. THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW is the current working title for the property. The underlying product-centered game-show format is in development.
Because founding partners may have an opportunity to help shape appropriate commercial activations while the property is being built. Sponsorship does not confer editorial control or ownership of OH THAT!'s format or intellectual property.
Potentially. The product must naturally fit an approved mechanic and satisfy applicable product, safety, claims, availability and commercial requirements.
Potentially. Recurring game sponsorship is part of the planned Own a Game / Own a Feature inventory, subject to availability, fit, category conflicts and final agreement.
No.
Where a featured product is presented as shoppable, it should be genuinely available or clearly identified otherwise. Applicable seller, price, fulfillment and transaction information must be provided.
No. Product inclusion and sponsorship are separate decisions. Supplying a product does not guarantee inclusion, positive treatment or sponsorship rights.
Potentially. Category partnerships may be available where strategically appropriate and must be specifically scoped.
Yes, where the proposed activation fits the show and does not conflict with existing rights.
The specific package is custom-scoped. Potential rights can include Founding Presenting Partner designation, presented-by association, agreed integrations, category rights, content assets, promotion, reporting and defined Founder's Dividend benefits.
THE OH THAT! GAME SHOW
THE GAMES ARE BEING BUILT.SO ARE THE POSITIONS INSIDE THEM.
Somebody will become the first brand behind this property.
Other brands may own games. Others may put products directly into play.
And viewers will get to decide whether the thing in front of them is weird, brilliant, overpriced, unbelievable—or exactly what they suddenly want.
THE PRODUCTS ARE THE GAME.
